Regular pillows will work just fine if you aren't up to spending the extra money

Boppy was the best thing I've ever bought.. C-section and exclusively breastfed with my children

I would buy the boppy only for tummy time, I had a c section and my abdomen was very sore. The pillows are a little of a hassle to get into a comfortable position fast not to mention the boppy would position my baby a little too high for my boob lol. I'm a little small

The Brest Friend was great during breastfeeding for me, it was much more firmer and held the baby up to boob level for me. My DH also liked it when he bottle fed the baby. We only use the boppy during tummy time

I like the boppy for setting my little guy in when I'm not holding him but I think it's kind of a hassle when it comes to breastfeeding. I just use couch or bed pillows to support my arm.
