Completely normal. Animals are really good at picking up on when their owners need a bit more protection than usual. My mom's Australian Shepherd is constantly guarding my belly and the two kittens that my boyfriend and I rescued never ever leave my side. I can't even use the restroom without them having to sit on my lap or my shoulders. 😂
