Who has tried acupuncture?

I am so excited! I just found a place that offers acupuncture on a sliding scale close to home. We did acupuncture when we did IVF and were successful. This time around we are trying on our own and I think this might help. Any others doing acupuncture while TTC?

​I started seeing an acupuncturist a month ago as my last resort before IVF, she got me to ovulate and I now have my period on my own!! I hadn't had one for 2 years. She got one of my friends pregnant when she was told she couldn't conceive. I have a good feeling about seeing her. She's amazing. Good luck!

Why does insurance not cover it? It's 70$ a session!

Just had my first appointment today and it was so relaxing!  I fell asleep. The woman I saw was wonderful. Very engaging and took the time to explain everything to me. I think she's a keeper!  I am going twice a week to start and then down to once a week. We will see how it works!

I do Acupunture 2x a week now... I see a huge difference w my periods! If u go - find one that has a degree and not just a chiropractor! I been to both and see a huge different w the licensed one!

Laura, when you used acupuncture around your IVF how frequently did you go?

I go once a week and it doesn't have to be timed at all with your cycle, you just need to know what CD you are on etc and it helps if you have checked CM as this will guide the acupurist with regards to the placement of needles. 
​The only time it is very important is if you have had any fertility treatment. They usually won't do anything at least 3days before and after an IUI for example. X

I just signed up for my first appointment next Thursday. And, my insurance covers it (just a co-pay!). I am willing to try anything...let's hope the combination of therapies at least gets me ovulating!

Hi, I have been having acupuncture for 9 months, I go once a week.
​After two failed IUIs I felt that I needed something else to help my body.
​It is brilliant. Not only does it help fertility wise it is also really good for stress and illnesses too.
​My cycle is much better now and I feel much more happier.
​Everyone is different but I would recommend. I pay £40 for an hour session, which in the UK is about average.
​It is worth the money though, even if on a subconscious level, as I feel like I am doing something every week to help myself.
​Has anyone ever had the electrodes in the back to help stimulate the ovaries? Very odd experience
