Thermometer issues

I bought a basal thermometer last night. I've been using a standard digital one but figured I'd buy a basal. I used both this morning at the same time and they were completely off from one another. One was 98.2 and one was 97.74....uh? Which one do I pick? I'm going to finish my cycle with the digital as that's what I've been using, but I'm so confused why they're so off -- they're both digital and look exactly the same except the basal provides more digits...help?
