Vaginal Lube burns??

every brand, every type of lube burns when I use it. my boyfriend is let's say above average and I have a hard time getting wet. so we use a water based flavor free lube and it irritates me down there. so we started doing a lot more foreplay and even that doesn't work. I don't have any yeast infections or any stds. I'm confused :(
