Meet Harper Rae ❤️
My due date was August 1st and due to a blood pressure spike my last few weeks of pregnancy my doctor didn't want me going past. I went to the hospital at 8pm on the 1st to be induced and was in bed all checked in with my first dose of meds by 9. I was only 1cm dilated but contractions started immediately and were 1-2 min apart (luckily they were hardly noticeable! At first I didn't even feel them but I would see the big spike on the moniter showing I was having one then a little later they turned to very mild period cramps). Once I got over some of my nerves I was able to sleep a little until 2am when I was woken up so the nurse could check my cervix and administer another dose of meds. Still constant contractions and only 1.5 cm dilated :/ Back to sleep hoping things will get moving but not expecting too much.. Fast forward to 6am. I wake up to an intensely painful contraction and my water breaking. All of a sudden I'm 6cm dilated and feeling every contraction which are still only a minute apart. After what felt like an eternity of constant pain I decide it's time for an epidural and I'm surprised how fast it worked! I was able to relax and let my body continue to contract and dilate and by 11 I was 10cm and ready to push. Harper Rae was born at 12:20pm on August 2 and is absolutely perfect ❤️❤️
