Surprise shower!
Something happy I would like to share.
Last night was our last night at my husbands family's house, so we were all hanging out at the pool (it was the only cool place) when his mom asked if my husband would run to the store.
He then asked if I wanted to go with him. I love going to the store; it was something I always found to be fun when I was little and for me it hasn't changed yet. So of course I said yes.
While we were there, my husband was taking his time, but I didn't suspect anything. As we're in line to check out, he calls home to see if there was anything else they needed. Out of the blue one of his sisters needed blush and his mom needed motor oil (lawn mower). Again, none of this seems strange to me at the time.
Anyways, we get back and when we walk in, "SURPRISE!" The whole upstairs is decorated, everyone smiling and asking if i was surprised. I just looked at my husband and I was like, "did you know?" Of course he did.
I was taken by complete surprise.
Looking back everything now makes sense, all of the little things that now add up to, people are being sneaky, but never once did I suspect anything.
My MIL was convinced I was on to them that morning (I was insisting on going to the bookstore then and not later that evening when they needed me to be gone because I knew everyone was going to be home and we could spend time together) but I never once guessed.
The food was awesome, curtesy of my youngest SIL, the decorations were adorable (I almost ruined buying them because when they were going to hobby lobby for them, I asked to tag along), the games were fun and everyone was so sweet.
It was perfect. I was sad that no one on my side was there (everyone lives across the country), till my SIL's pulled out a laptop and played a video they made: my husband had contacted my parents, my family, our friends and his family to make videos for the shower! It was all my MIL's idea and I was in near tears the entire time.
It was the most amazing thing ever.
I was never expecting a shower, then my MIL asked if she could throw me one in sept/oct which made me very happy. But this was perfect.
