what is sleep regression?

Sorry for the silly question but please explain? And has you LO gone through this?

It's referred to as a regression but in actual fact it is a big progression because they've matured into adult sleep cycles of light and deep sleeping instead of just deep sleep like newborns, and this new cycle is permanent.The people who  struggle  with it are those whos babies have been sleeping quite long and good so far whereas mine still wakes every 2-3 hrs to breast feed day and night so I won't notice much difference.

Sleep regression is hell, that's what it is lol. I was up with baby from 230-430 last night then my husband took over. He's always been a good sleeper but lately he wakes up laughing and wanting to look around. They're just becoming more aware of the world and not sleeping as hard as newborns do

This website and its sleep schedule helped us with the regression. I used to do the newborn schedule until she was sleeping 10 hours a night. Then, she went to waking every 2 hours, so we started working on it again!

Just got over the 4 month sleep regression! It was hell that is right lol. He woke up literally once an hour and needed help falling back asleep. We were miserable for about 2 weeks! Their sleep routine changes and at 4 months they start having deep sleep like when they were a newborn and light sleep which can wake them up. He was fighting his naps too it was bad.

Our LO is going through it right now, she will be 4 months on the 20th. I really can't complain though, before this little stretch she was sleeping 10-12 hours a night. Now we put her to bed at 8 and she wakes up between 3-4 for a feeding. I wake up for work at 2:30 though so I think she can sense that I'm up. She does wake up for a few seconds several times a night and cries because her binky fell out of her mouth. I'll put it back in and she goes right back to sleep. She still sleeps in a bassinet next to our bed. I am not ready for her to be in her crib, but I know it's time! 😔

It's when your little bundle of joy is blissfully sleeping through the night then out of the blue they are back to waking up frequently at night again.

Some babies go through it and others don't. My son never went through it and so far (fingers crossed) neither has my daughter.
