When did you get the sex talk?

Alright I have 7 year old girl who keeps bringing up questions about her body and my mom never gave me a good sex talk. So at what age did your parents give you the sex talk and what did they tell you?

Talking about sex and their body should be an ongoing convo right from the start, we teach about basic anatomy as soon as potty training begins, we teach the difference between boys and girls (penis vs vagina) the talk should always be there it should evolve as they get older. If your daughter has questions be open & honest & answer them. It will ensure she feels comfortable talking to you in the future. Sex & anatomy shouldn't be an "embarrassing or awkward" conversation it's natural & part of life.

My mom started the talk with me when I was in third grade because the school nurse told her a couple of my classmates started their periods and she didn't want me to freak out.
I didn't start mine until almost sophomore year of high school, so she really had no reason to worry 😂

I grew up with an open dialogue. I knew about sex from a young age (not how it worked) then about 13 my parents told me in more depth (I asked) and from then on out it was a subject that was totally open.

Never really had a talk, but when my mom found out I was sexually active instead of telling me how to be safe about it, she basically told me that I was disgusting and that I can't trust my boyfriend that he doesn't have an STD or that he would pull out in time (although he doesn't have an STD & has the papers to prove it, and he always pulls out minutes before when we do it unprotected) and she just made me feel like shit about it

We didn't really talk about it until I was 12, I think, but my older cousin told me everything about sex before that (probably elementary school). My mom one day in 7th grade was just like "you know what sex is right?" And I was thinking 🙄 "yes mom, you used to watch 'Sex and the City' while I was in the room when I was little." But I think I just said "yeah." Lol 🙈
