How long until sex?

FTM and I'm curious,  does everyone wait until 6 weeks after giving birth? Or until the bleeding stops? Idk?

When dr clears you go for it but if you don't want to I totally understand. I didn't either. Just make sure your partner is gentle

I waited 2 weeks after my first 😳 I had back labor, was dry and no epidural with my second so I didn't want to have anything come near me for waaaay over 6 weeks. After my third I waited till the 6 weeks because I didn't feel totally put together and wanted to heal as much as I could.

My Dr actually told me 4 weeks so we waited until then. I will say it was incredibly painful though and this time I'm going to wait 6 weeks and see if that helps.

I waited five weeks. I think it all depends on the person. I waited about 2 weeks passed the time I stopped bleeding, until I knew my stitches healed, until my vagina felt fully comfortable (I could squat, stretch, touch, and it didn't hurt at all). I'm at week 7 and sex still hurts when we start, but it's getting better.

You're suppose to wait the whole 6 weeks. But some people who have had multiple children will tell you that they didn't wait and they did it when they felt comfortable. I plan to wait until I fully stop bleeding. I heard it hurts the first time doing it. I'm terrified. Also a first time mom. Lol

I've heard both 4 and 6 weeks. I'm not sure which is more accurate. Apparently it's not uncommon for the pp appointment to be 4 weeks. Mine isn't until 7 (as it was scheduled based on when I would have been induced...).

I'll be honest. My partner is making it hard to wait. He's been less intimate and I was wondering why. The other night he admitted that it's because waiting has been hard. Our anniversary is September 11th... so I'm thinking I may go ahead and do it then. It'll be 2 days shy of 6 weeks.

Personally I recommend waiting at least the 4, with 6 being more ideal. I hear it hurts, and your body needs time to heal. Also, we're at increased risk of infection AND pregnancy at the moment
