Abortion? Birth control?

Do you think birth control is a form of abortion?

Personally I don't think so. Abortion is after a life has started to form. Birth control stop it from forming in the first place. Just wanted to know what other people think.

No they are not the same but they are both ways for you to stay not pregnant. So, for example, if you are a devout Catholic they are both seen as wrong by the Church because they are used to stop God's will (you getting pregnant). But overall, when it comes down to it, it is your choice to use either option.

I was recently told that apparently birthcontrol doesn't always immediately work and that if the sperm manages to fertilize the egg, the bc creates an unstable environment. This prevents the baby from developing but still fertilizes the egg. I have no sources and therefore can't confirm this, but it's something my mom told me about which then made her dislike bc due to her being Catholic and prolife.

I agree with you Alex. Birth control is the same thing as contraception, which by definition is a PREVENTION of pregnancy, not an end of it. It prevents the sperm from fertilizing an egg in the first place, whereas an abortion can only happen once sperm & egg have met to form an embryo.

No because the baby was never in existence to begin with. It's simply preventing a baby by altering your body, no one else's.
