Am I stupid buying things before I'm pregnant?

Question

Basically, we've been trying a month and I think I'm pregnant already. Am I silly buying nappies, wipes, second hand pram etc.

If I never use the stuff I'll sell it or give it to charity.

Saving money in the long run :)

We bought and picked up everything around 33 weeks and ended up loosing our son the same week, so really there's never a good time to get stuff. I would wait until your actually pregnant and Atleast 20odd weeks. My mum did start picking stuff up as soon as I told her which was 12 weeks but that's only cause she worked in asda and got amazing deals.

If you find a deal grab it! Especially on the big ticket items.   Even if it stays boxed up or in storage for a while it's still a great deal and like you said you can donate it or sell it later if need be.

I'm not buying anything until I'm 24+ weeks (currently 9.5). I think I'd find it really depressing to be surrounded by baby stuff if something happens...

I didn't buy anything until later in the pregnancy. But if you know you want a baby, and if you have a room to store it in, incase God forbid something happened so you wouldn't have to see the baby stuff until you conceived again. Then I say go for it. It never hurts to be prepared. Just don't buy and gender specific things until you are pregnant and knot what your having lol.

I knew I wanted kids in HS so I started buying things at 17 from thrift stores and such. I lucked out because my pregnancy was unexpected (at 20) and I was in a state with no family. I never had a baby shower and single at the time since me and my husband had split up, so having all of the basics like a play pen, bottles, onsies, and basics like that already in storage helped a lot.
