birth story a little late
I had my son over a year ago but I've never really told my birth story before. It started on Wednesday May 27th me and my mom decided to walk to the store it's about a mile down the road from where we lived at the time (I was 38 weeks) and on the walk over there I started feeling a sharp pain in my right side but it was consistent so I didn't think it was contractions so I just told my mom and we kept walking because it was still bearable and I could walk and such. But on our way back it got so bad that I physically could not walk any farther and my mom had to come get me in the truck and we called my doctor and set up and appointment. At the time I still didn't think it was contractions because it was still just a consistent sharp pain. We got to my doctor and they did a stress test, checked me, and did a membrane sweep on me. I was 3cm dialated and 90% effaced. I wasn't planning on getting induced but before we left my doctor asked me if I wanted to have my son tomorrow by induction and I honestly just couldn't say no. I had to go the hospital at 12:00am that night de to having GBS and they wanted to put me on antibiotics. I was 15 at the time and my mom let my boyfriend come and get me and take me to the hospital. We got there around 11:50 and had to fill out paper work and all that. I was shaking I was so nervous lol. when we finally got back into a room they set up the antibiotics for GBS and said they would start the induction at 7:00am. We are a little bit then headed to sleep, around 4:00am I got woke up due to having contractions and this time they were not consistent they would come and go so I knew it was contractions. It got so bad that I had to call my nurse into the room to give me something to help me sleep. She checked me and I was 4 1/2 cm dialated so I was starting to make some progress without the pitocin which was great. the medicine she gave me knocked me right out and I was woken up at 7:00 to get my water broken and to start the pitocin. I got my water broken and was told that I was 6cm so they didn't start the pitocin yet since I was progressing on my own. I stayed at 6cm until 12:00pm my nurse came to check me and to ask if I wanted the epidural, and I said yes. I was still 6cm so she told me after I get the epidural they would start me on pitocin. I was soooo shaky while getting the epidural. It helped for a while but i started feeling every bit of my contractions so I called my nurse and she came in and checked me and I was at 9cm. Some of my family and my boyfriends family came in and wished me good luck and all that jazz. I stayed at a 9 for about an hour until my nurse came in to check me and I was finally at a 10! after about 30 minutes of pushing I had my beautiful son at 3:41pm on May 28th, 2015. I lost a lot of blood during labor and got a little sick so I barley could even cry. I had no energy to do anything. But when I looked at my boyfriend and he was crying and looked so happy something in me clicked and I started balling lol. He was 8lbs 9oz and 21 1/2 inches long! Sorry this was so long thank you for reading!! 😊
