Just a thought for any women who think baby might be sunny side up...

Maggi

My little girl is 6 days old now! But she was sunny side up and even came out that way. She never turned. I just about knew for sure that she was but my doctor couldn't tell. I was induced and it took me 24 hours to deliver her. I didn't dilate quickly and my contractions never became regular not even as I was delivering.

Once I knew exactly what contractions were I also knew that I had been having genuine contractions for days because of her being sunny side up. If I had not been induced there is a good chance I would have ended up having her on the floor of my bathroom because I would have guessed it wasn't real labor lol the only thing that felt different than the contractions I had been having and their frequency was absolutely excrutiating back labor. Which I would have probably assumed was just a pregnancy joy.

The nurse that worked the night shift the first night i was there knew from my contraction pattern that she was most likely face up and did everything she could to turn her (different positioning and techniques) but she just wouldn't go.

So just a heads up for any of you who might have a sunny side up baby. They can fool you! I had contractions 4 to 5 minutes apart for days before I was induced!
