Doing your own hair color?!

Hello ladies, 
I was wondering has anyone ever dyed their own hair and what are the pros and cons? I'm planning on going to Sally's (like a beauty store, sells hair dye, nail stuff, hair stuff, etc.) I'm wanting to go from blonde to brown. Let me know yalls recommendations please!😊

I've done my own hair dozens of times. I've seen "professional" jobs that look like garbage. You have to know what you are doing though.

Research hair dye brands, check out user reviews and such to figure out what brand, cause lord knows there's a ton and you want one that will hold for a good amount of time without having to redo it. I recommend having a friend or family member help you, cause it's really difficult to get towards the back of your head alone.

PLEASE PLEASE A MILLION TIMES PLEASE DO NOT COLOR YOUR HAIR AT HOME! Go to a salon and get it professionally done. I know you just want to go brown which is a hell of a lot easier than going blonde but still. I'm a hairstylist at Fulgenxio Salon in West Newton and we actually are doing specials! 20% all services (cut, color, wax, eyelash extensions, makeup application, formal style) and for the back to school special which is a $12 haircut for any color service. Again I strongly advise you to not do your hair at home... You don't have to go to a very expensive salon too!

GO TO A TRUSTED SALON/STYLIST!!! I know it's tempting to do it yourself but hair coloring is actually really complicated and there's a lot more to it than getting some color and slapping it on your hair. As a cosmetology student, you'll get much better results from someone who knows what they're doing.

I've done it both ways salon and with Sally's both a zillion times lol, just if you go the Sally's route make sure you evenly apply the color and make sure you choose a color dark enough that your blonde won't take just the base color because then you could end up with green or purple hair lol. GL!

Put on a shirt that you don't want. Also no bra and grab a mirrir to see your back. Put vasaline around your hair lines and behind your ears so the dye doesn't stain your skin.
