am I overreacting?

I count on my best friend for everything, I tell him everything and he is my rock. I'm currently a sophomore in high school and he's a senior. He says he's not gonna forget about me, because I'm also his best friend. But I just have a gut feeling that once he goes off to college, I'm gonna be left behind too. Someone tell me I'm wrong 😞

I'm gonna be honest and say yes people usually drift apart during college/university. It all depends on the person and the effort they make to stay in touch with you. If he's your best friend like you say he is then you shouldn't worry about growing apart, because he'll try to keep you in his life no matter what. My friends and I all go to different universities and although we don't talk as often as we used to, we still feel the same way about each other as we did in high school when we actually do get the chance to talk. It's like we were never apart to begin with.

To be honest dear I said the same thing to my younger friends when I was about to graduate and I never talked to them again. BUT that's just me, I have no idea what yalls bond was like.
