My husband has just text me from work saying he needs to tell me that he's been texting a girl from his old work for a couple of weeks but didn't want to tell me until now. He swears that it's just general chat about work an life and I believe him but I'm really hurt he kept it from me to begin with. I've no idea what to say to him when he comes home tonight??

My fiancé and I were in a similar situation in the beginning of our relationship. It was nothing bad, just a girl who he has been friends with for 20 or so years. He hid it at first but quickly admitted to it, explaining that his ex wife was EXTREMELY jealous of any female (even family members!) and he was scared I would be mad. Told him I was hurt more by him hiding it from me, I even spoke to the girl about it. She was very apologetic also, and now we are all friends. We both tell each other everything and have access to each other's phones if we want to check up on things. Since that day though I have never felt the need to go thru his phone. Let him do the talking first to see what he says and base your reaction from that, it really could be nothing but friendly talking. But If you feel something isn't right, say so! Good luck ❤️

You don't have to say anything you have to let him do the talking, ingest it and then think of your response. In a way you can say that it's good he told you without you snooping and finding out. Ask to see the messages and if they are just general stuff that you don't have a problem with then tell him. If it's messages you're uncomfortable with then tell him. You need to get all your feelings out in a calm and composed way. Good luck x

Husband has deleted all messages so now my mind is racing. Deep down I know he wouldn't do anything but it hurts to think he kept it from me for weeks and now I will never know 💔

Thank you for all your advice. He's just come home but the kids are still up so we will be talking when they're in bed. He's not mentioned anything upto now though 😔
