Baby's tongue tied and clipped?

Cassie
My baby boy is 13 days old and it was still hurting when he breastfed so at our 2 week checkup I had the doctor look at his tongue because I had decided maybe the little piece of skin under his tongue was too close to the end of his tongue and keeping it pulled down making it hard for him to feed well. So the doctor agreed that it might be a little close and gave me the option to have it clipped. I let him do it and the baby seems to be nursing well and latching better/faster after he learned how to use his tongue again. Poor thing. He cried pretty hard for just a second and then he was perfectly fine. Now I worry that I did the wrong thing by changing him...
Anyone else's baby have a tied tongue?
