I want to write a children's book.

I want to write a children's book. I grew up having a bedtime story read to me every night till I was 12. I loved it. I still enjoy reading children's books. It gives me comfort. I feel calm from the smooth tones, to the bright pictures. I always had a love for children's books. I have my first daughter on the way and have been sitting at home not working for months now. The thought popped into my head about writing a children's book or multiple if the first took off. I know it's crazy but it's something I am passionate about. What is your opinion?
