Uti and hcg level questions

I just had bloodwork and urine tests done yesterday and I specifically asked about my hcg levels. I received a call today and they said my hcg was 2495 but said that's 4 weeks? I thought I was 5. Also, they said my urine test was contaminated and that I have a uti. They didn't say anything else. Are uti common during pregnancy? They weren't completely helpful on the phone and I don't have a newcomers orientation till next week. Thanks everyone!
