TTC after D&C

At 7 weeks, I had a missed miscarriage so, at 8 weeks, I had a D&C. It's been 6 weeks and I finally started my period today. It's been a little heavier than usual, but glad it's finally back. My doctor has told me several times now that she wants me to have two normal periods before we start trying again. I'm almost 35, have no children, and I really just want to start trying again this cycle, but if there is a a higher risk of miscarriage if I don't wait, of course, I don't want to take my chances, but I'm not finding that that is the case. Thoughts on this?
