To the ladies who straighten their hair...

Kashia
Hey. So I've been straightening my hair chemically and with a flat iron since I was about 14. My hair has mellowed as I've gotten older, and I've stopped using shampoos and conditioners in favor of just water, or a n apple cider vinegar rise, as the occasional coconut oil hair mask. My hard behaves much better than it ever did before, but I still have issues controlling it from time to time, and I like to straighten on occasion.
So here's the thing: We've all seen those infomercials with the straightening brushes, right? Well, I bought one, despite the so-so reviews, from the as seen on tv section of target. Opened it up, and... It had a hair in the bristles. No joke! It was wound through the bristles, so it couldn't have just fallen from my head into it. Disgusted, I return it unused. Found a similar product, but cheaper, on the Wish app. Received it, opened it, and... Same thing. I'm dead serious, guys. Hair. In the bristles. Got a refund, though.
I decided to try once more with a product I found on Amazon. This brush is called a Rosemyst Hair Straightening Brush. There are 2 types, one wth regular bristles and one that looks more like a paddle brush with "bristles" about a half-inch in length, each with a surface that heats up. This is different from the ones with standard looking bristles. I opted for this one. I should note that the reviews for the Rosemyst brush (either style) is much higher than for other brands out there.
It arrived today in shrink wrap, which I felt was a good sign. I opened it to inspect the brush itself, and... Nothing. No hair, nothing that looked unsanitary or gave me the creeps. I read the instructions, but decided not to use it until my hair was dry (I'd done an apple user vinegar rise earlier). Once my hair was dry, i took it in the bathroom to give it a shot.
Being my first time, I decided to go slow and not worry about how much time t took, though I realized later that I could have gone faster and it still would have been effective. As it was, I did my hair in about 15-20 minutes and actually got he back pretty straight, which takes forever with a flat iron, and I still don't get it totally right with that. It was incredibly easy to use, and knowing that I can go faster next time will mean I should be able to do everything in at most 10 minutes WITHOUT major kinks in the back of my head.
So I wanted to let you guys know about this brush. It doesn't feel cheap or anything, an cost just under $30.
Before straightening. It's not in bad shape or anything, but you can see that it's got a good bit of curl there. I like it, but I also like having it straight sometimes.
After using the brush.
