Does anyone else's baby HATE diaper changes?!?

I am a FTM who has a 4 day old newborn and she absolutely HATES getting her diaper changed! She never fusses and it seems like she'd rather sit in the dirty diaper than to have it changed. She SCREAMS bloody murder when we do. I feel so bad but it's a little funny. The second we are done and button up her onesie she is back to being perfectly fine 😂😂

It's normal for a newborn to hate diaper changes. It will get better. I hung his mobile above the changing table (3 rd baby). Once he could see the mobile, he loved it. Newborns don't like the cold air, the change in air, the cold wipes etc... It's all strange to a new baby and strange equals scary

Wait until she gets older and you have to chase her down and then practically wrestle her and then get kicked and elbowed in the face while you try to hold her down all while she's screaming and turning red. And you just gotta hope no one else is around because If someone didn't know better, it would look like borderline torture

Also make it fun. Talk, coo, and belly kisses make it more fun as they get older. If you are stressed about it, they'll sense it!

My baby doesn't like it because it makes him cold. The sudden temperature change... He gets over it once I'm done.

When my LO was a newborn she hates it because it made her cold. A wipe warmer helped and I would be super fast. Now she loves it and thinks its playtime

My little girl is almost a month old and still does that often. She's learning that it's part of her life, so I would say 3 in 5 changes are fairly quiet affairs now. The first two weeks were screaming bloody-murder every time, though. It should get better. Best of luck!

My LO hated getting changed at first too but eventually the changing table became her "happy place". If she was ever crying or upset, we could put her on her table and she would instantly calm down.

Yup mine hates them especially when I do it. He fusses less when my husband does it tho

My son used to do that too. I found if I crossed his arms over his chest and held them like that for a few minutes it calmed him down and I could change him with no crying.

Try changing her in a warm room and maybe even get a wipe warmer.

I try to make it fun too with songs and funny faces and talking to her.

I'd do what you can now to get her to like it because it'll be a lot harder to deal with if she doesn't grow out of it when she's bigger!
