Cry it out method?

Hey guys my girl is 2 months and 2 weeks and she always wants to be held and cries when i put her down. I never wanted to do cry it out but my back hurts from holding her all the time and i cant get anything done. I i have a sling but i dont like using it much and im starting to think about CIO i want her to be okay with not being held. This isnt for naps or bed time she doesnt cry when i put her down at bedtime she sleeps form 10 to 7 every night and is great. Its just during the day. Noone judge me for thinking about this. But i had some questions if i do it. How long do i let her cry before giving in? Where do i put her just in her swing or laying in her crib or what?

Cry it out shouldn't be started until after 6 months and it should only be used for bedtime and naps. Before 6 months, babies do not know they are a separate person from you, that is why she wants to be held so much. Leaving her this early to CIO could cause her physical problems, like trouble/refusal to eat and trouble sleeping, that would actually make it worse, not better. My suggestion is to either get someone to help you out or find a wrap that you like better and are more comfortable using. If not done correctly, CIO can cause major sleep and psychology issues down the road. If this is something you will persue, I encourage you to do a lot of research and read up on how to do it properly, so there will be no negative effects from it.

Please don't.  Your baby is too young. The first fews months are hard. But it will get better Momma :-)
Don't worry about the house. Spend quality time with your lo. They grow so fast you'll regret it. Also could your baby have colic? Maybe thats why lo is crying often. Remember some babies are more needy than others. When your husband gets home from work. He can care for bubs then you can have some free time. :-)

Get a carrier and wear her. Newborns like to be held! It won't last forever and honestly no mother has ever said I wish I'd held my baby less. My daughter was like that as a newborn and now she's almost 1 and so independent and hardly ever wants to cuddle anymore.

CIO method is for sleeping. Not sure if it should be used during the day but maybe you should talk to your pedestrian  maybe there's a reason she's crying that can be helped. Or maybe she's just entertained and smoothed by your embrace. My son was fussy whenever I put him down. When I started putting on Sesame Street or Barney he was entertained enough that I could finally make myself breakfast in the am.  Good luck!

It's too early for CIO. Please don't try until at least 3 months old. Baby simply is not capable of self soothing at this point. You need to wait a few more weeks. Right now, just try setting up a routine at bedtime. If possible, lay baby down awake, but super sleepy (almost asleep). In a few more weeks, continue to follow routine, but you can so either progressive waiting ( after 5 minutes, go in and reassure baby, the wait 8 minutes before next check, then wait 10, then 15, etc). Or you can do rapid ( just don't go back in after putting baby down). BUT again, you are simply too early right now. Baby can't self soothe. Just focus on setting up some good routines.
