When did baby start eating cereal or food?

How old was your baby when you first gave him/her cereal or food? And what was the doctors instructions

I waited until six months.

3.5-4months bananas once a day/every other day. I dont ask my pediatrician permission for anything.

Question: why did you guys give them food/cereal at 4 months? What was your reason? Was baby needing more food or was cranky at times or hard to sleep?

6 months. Started with carrots.

Pediatrician didn't give their recommendation but I started 4-5 months.  Oatmeal and some sweet potatoes and carrots.

I gave my son apple sauce at 4 months. Dr said 6 months.  This time I'm starting with veggies and meat
