Missed miscarriage dates

Question to those that have experienced a missed miscarriage... In making a memorial what dates have you used? The day you heard the awful words I'm sorry there's no longer a heartbeat.... Or the day you either went through a d&c or passing of the remnants while at home?

In my thoughts each of those days are etched into my memory forever and I feel the latter of the dates would fit... Even though the soul of my angel had left weeks prior.... Just curious of others opinions.
