Does anyone plan to have there baby sleep in the crib straight from the hospital ?

I plan to buy a bassinet or co sleeper just in case but I would really want to utilize the nursury and get my baby to sleep in his crib alone .
I know many has tried and it didn't work but was wondering if anyone has done it with previous children and/or planning to do it with current baby .
Also any techniques and game plans you might have to executing this mission !
