I have so many friends that I am simply appalled at. They don't teach their children to take care of things. When they come over to play, something always seems to get broken. I've gone to hiding toys when they come over. Perhaps I have been pretty hard on my kids to take care of their stuff and especially their friend's things, but guess whose house the kids want to come play at because we have all the cool toys that aren't broken?

I have always told my kids:

If you break it, you don't get another.

Take better care of other people's things than you would your own.

If you break someone else's toy, you replace it.

I guess I am just especially frustrated after watching my neighbor's kids the past couple of weeks and seeing how they treat our things.
