What are the cons of induction?

I have to be induced on Tuesday 😔😔😭💔 My doctor doesn't think it'd be safe to go past 41 weeks so induction it is.. Just wondering what all the cons of it are.

It doesn't always work. If there aren't enough beds on labour ward, they can stop it n start again next day. Can take so long to get second dose, the first has worn off n have to start all over again. And you could still end up having a c-section anyway. All of these happened to me in the worst 10days of my life.

I was induced, was having contractions for 5 days and stayed at 1cm the whole time, in the end I ended up having a c section

I was induced all my 3 pregnancies, 2 successful, most recent ended up in a c section  (I went overdue and the day before my scheduled induction I  got preeclampsia and baby went into distress when trying a fast induction). The only cons are the pitocin contractions can be quite strong, but I got an epidural and was then fine.  It can also take quite a bit of time especially if you're not dilated, so eat a good meal before you go because my hospital wouldn't allow me to eat once pitocin started. It does put you at higher risk for c section, but in my case with my recent pregnancy, going overdue put me at even bigger risk. Other than that I see no major cons. If I decide to have a 4th I will definitely opt for an induction instead of going overdue if i don't labor naturally before then.

Inducing the contractions are worse because your body can't regulate them and you have a higher chance of c-section. It took me almost 24hrs to become 10 cm dilated to start pushing and still ended up in a c-section

Yeah I was induced and the pitocin made my baby's heart drop and I had a c section after 23 hours of labor

There are cons to being induced, but it is possible you won't experience any of them.

My mom was induced when she was 42 weeks with me. She said I was the fastest, easiest labor of all six of her kids. There were zero complications.

If your dr thinks you need to be induced and you've talked it through with her/him and there's no way around it then personally I wouldn't even read, look, or listen to the cons. 💕

Well i was induced and my storys positive... no c section... it was painful but once u get the epidural, i got at 3 cm...its much better. I think i was in labor a total of 9 hours.... didnt even feel pushing her out. Hope the same goes for you good luck.
