My high school principals motto was "Make it a great day, or not. The choice is yours." After hearing it every day on the morning announcements for 4 years, it has become part of my way of life. I still see it affecting people everyday. As a nurse, I try to always keep my patients spirits up and remind them that attitude is everything. The ones who dwell on being sick and only focus on the negatives, don't heal as well as the ones who look forward to pushing through the sickness and think about the positive outcomes that will come their way as they get stronger. Those patients are more determined and usually heal faster. Mind over matter.
