What kind of tests do they run when you get checked to see if you can have kids? Appointment September 1st.

Answer

Depends on what you're getting done. The preconception appointment is usually a Pap smear, pelvic exam and drawing blood to check for the rubella vaccine I believe. If you're getting a vaginal ultra sound they put this long wand inside you  and move it around to check to see if your uterus is tilted or bug enough to carry a baby. Uncomfortable but manageable, just like a pap. A HSG is painful as shit. They have you lie on a table and put a tube with a ballon on the end inside of you then inflate it. They then inject a dye to see if your uterus and Fallopian tubes are open. They say mild discomfort but to me it hurt like hell. Then I had to go get like 4 vials of blood drawn.
