What food did you give your baby first?

My baby will be 4 months in 3 days and I'm pretty sure I'll get the 'ok' from his pediatrician. What food did you give your lo first? Other than cereal. I'm thinking about avocado

Just had this same talk with our pediatrician Wednesday. He suggested skipping rice cereal altogether since it has no nutritional value, and instead recommended starting with stage 1 baby food. We started with apples yesterday and so far my little guy loves it! We stick with one food at a time for 4 days to make sure he doesn't have a bad reaction to it, then switch to something else.

All my baby has tried so far is sweet potatoes. Oh and rice cereal but she wasn't a fan!

Moms- how much do you give your LO? A tsp? Tbsp? Half a jar? That's where I get confused!

Our pediatrician recommended that we wait until 6 months for avocado (i asked specifically about it) so we did green beans, squash, sweet potato, carrots, prunes, apples and fresh banana pieces not puree. Not all at once though, we waited about 3-4 days in between each need food
