When do my areolas lighten back up?

As we all know our Areolas get bigger and much darker while preggers. So my question is, do they get lighter after you give birth or after you're done breast feeding??? TIA

I had a baby 2 years ago and again 5 months ago and mine have never lightened back to the colour the was pre pregnancy

Mine lightened after breastfeeding and got small again.

My mom said never. Lol I'm the youngest and I'm 23 years old. She said hers darkened with my oldest sister who is 35 and never went back. So I'm guessing its permanent.

Mine did lighten back up but not to how pink they were before. It took like a year or two for me.
