EWCM before period?

10 day ago I used the clear blue opk and it gave me the smiley face for two days.  I had EWCM just like normal and dried up fairly quickly.  A few days ago, I started having more heavy EWCM.  I took another opk and it came out very strong.  I am due to start my period in 5 days.  Typically, my body is dry or producing creamy white CM around this time.  I am curious if anyone experienced something similar.  This is very abnormal for my cycle.
