Too early to set up the nursery ? Is it bad luck?

Just got off the phone to my sis; I was telling her that I was going to start clearing out my office soon ready to turn into the nursery. She told me that it's bad luck to set up early. What do you think ?

I'm almost 20 weeks and we have already started setting it up and started decorating. I don't buy into the whole it's bad luck thing. If you want to go for it!!

Psh I don't believe in this. Set it up if you want. I am in the works of getting our office transformed.

Cleaning stuff out takes SO long I think it's good to get started early. My husband had his desk and all this gardening stuff in our room and it literally took a whole day just to clean the desk to get moved. I think you should work when the mood strikes since I've heard the exhaustion hits hard in the 3rd trimester. My doctor told me the percentage likelihood that anything bad happens is the same at 12 weeks or 40 weeks so you might as well set up while you feel like it- I'd hate to have nursery anxiety on top of worrying about going into labor.

I put my crib up at 17w. And have already hung some clothes but that's it so far. With my first I think I was about 30w before I did anything, but seeing as my life is busier now I try to do what I can when I can.

I've heard that as well but I don't buy into that. We are moving in September and I'll start as soon as I move in and get settled.

I don't know. This is my first and I'm not too worried about little things like that. But, I'm only 17  1/2 weeks and I want to clear out my office now for the nursery, too. Lol.  I got the dresser, and we find out the sex next Tuesday. Thank goodness we have to retile the floor in his or her bedroom first, probably early October. So, that'll force me to wait. But, believe me, that I'm going to start buying decorations when we find out pink or blue next week.  :)
