My husband doesn't feel as excited as I do is this normal?

My husband and I planned to get pregnant and we wee both happy we did but now I am ready to nest and register for baby showers and decorate the nursery and his not interested plus he has shared he feels I.am more excited than I am I am feeling so sad and alone is this normal for husband to be so detached from the baby?

All he's doing is sitting by and watching you go through it all.

Think about it. YOUR body grows with baby. YOU feel them moving inside you. YOU give birth. YOU produce something from your body to feed them.

You get all that bonding and crap from day one. He doesn't experience anything but you having symptoms and the occasional bump on his hand when he is lucky enough to feel it.

How can he be as excited when all this child is, is just an idea to him still. Yes it's in there but he won't experience anything major until he holds his child for the first time. It's very normal for you to be far more excited than him

I think it's hard for dads to really wrap their heads around the fact that there really is a BABY coming. I mean, I know my husband is really excited, but I've basically had to force him into painting the nursery, etc. it's like he thinks he has all the time in the world! I think to them it's all just so hypothetical - they rationally know there's a baby coming but they don't go through the pregnancy period like we do. For them, nothing has really changed yet and so it doesn't seem real.

My husband is very excited about having a baby but the whole pregnancy thing hasn't really been a big deal to him. I think a lot of men don't really get it since they're just bystanders. He tries to seem super interested when the baby is kicking and stuff, but it's still not real to him. It sucks but I try not to get upset about it. He'll be a great dad once it counts

Yes, dad will get a rush of feelings once he holds baby and begins to interact. We start feeling excited because it's literally inside us.

It was that way with our son, I was upset that I did everything and he was in the background saying "yay, you've done everything" with a beer in his hand. BUT during labor I had some minor complications that led to a c-section. After he was born, they gave him to my husband and took them to my recovery room to wait for me (I started feeling pain so they knocked me out after he was born). He had an entire hour to hold and bond with baby before I came. After that it was over, he took over and was super dad. Lol, if I wasn't a food source then I wouldn't of been needed! Just give it time!!! When your babe is here, he will then be excited!

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who has a husband who is more excited than I am lol (which I don't even know how that's possible!)

He set up our registry and started buying things before we even conceived. He even spent hours researching birthing classes and midwives and has decided HE wants to be my doula!

He talks about her and to her every single day and it's the sweetest thing ever.

I guess everyone takes having a baby differently, maybe he'll come around when the baby is born. Good luck.

I know my hubby loves my baby because he worked so hard to conceive this one because he had low sperm mobility. But then he doesn't know how to show his excitement either. He hardly talks to the baby. At times it makes me wonder why I'm the only one who looks excited. But then i know he does. He says 'he's my son'.  I think it's just a 'man' thing. Bad with too much emotions. Ha ha.

Me and DH both are. 
Sure we're excited for our third boy. DH is proud that so far he only produced lil men. 
  Buy honestly until he here were like meh. 
Am over 30 weeks and we have nothing ready at all.

My last two pregnancy DH refused to knowledge them at all. I had to do everything myself and he refused to be happy so far all my pregnancy are unplanned so DH wasn't happy till he saw his boys 
 So the fact he not pissed off this pregnancy is a huge win for me lol.

Omgosh my husband too. But with him he doesn't get excited when the baby moves or anything like that. It's weird. He rubbed my belly for our boys but for our daughter nothing. I'm bummed.

I think all the ladies r right! I guess it natural for us to be more excited.. We live the experience more than our men do!
