FTM Hospital bag the same as just a diaper bag?

Question

I'm a first time mom and due in 6 weeks. 
I'm confused about the hospital bag thing?
Is that just like a bag you have prepared for the hospital incase your water breaks or just like a diaper bag with your baby stuff? 
I'm sorry if that sounds dumb but I'm seriously curious as I don't know the difference.

Yes its a bag for you and baby packed with change if clothes. For your baby bring some sleepers and going home outfits.

I can give you and example my babies bag:
 Diapers, wipes, socks, mittens, 3 receiving blankets, 3 sleepers , 3 onesies,  2 going home outfits, paci, comb, brush, diaper cream, and his baby book, and a blanket to put over car seat. Now you can change up as you please and you might don't need all that stuff but I was just coming prepared just in case. Hospitals change all the time. So hopefully that helps

i brought a small suitcase for me and my husbands stuff and a diaper bag for my baby :) you can bring any bag you want tho that you can put ypur things on 😊

You can put all your stuff and baby stuff in gym bag that's what I did or you can pack your stuff separate from baby stuff and pack his in his diaper bag.. you do need clothing in both newborn and 0-3 months you just won't know how big baby will be and you can pack as much as you like first time moms over packed trust me I did too.. but just basic stuff because you just don't know what hospitals will provide you with.. my hospitals provide me with everything like diapers and wipes and diaper rash cream so I just took babies going home outfits and blanket and some personal items that I wanted him to wear like little socks and other just things that made me feel like I was home and baby was home.. but the best part is actually picking the going home outfit.. I did take a couple of diapers on my diaper bag for the car ride home in case baby needed a diaper changed but if you live close by you might not need it.. some hospitals don't let you change baby because they come in and out to take them for check up and they keep then in just a little shirt and the hospital has this blanket that's huge which they swaddle baby with at all times.. but like unsaid not all hospitals are the same if you have question as your doctor or call your local hospital the one you will deliver in..

I bought a cute pink gym bag that will be my  hospital bag were ill pack my stuff wallet, change of cloths , socks, slippers, space for paper work, snacks, lotions bathing items, n all that and my baby  baby diaper bag a change of cloths , bring home outfit, my breast pump

Yes. As though you're taking baby out for a few days. 
You need a few changes of clothes for each of you etc
