when am I protected?

I started taking the pill (Rigevidon) today (second day of my period / day 2 of my cycle) and am wondering when I will be able to have sex without any other type of protection? Will I have to wait 7 days or am I protected right away?

I was told I would be free to go unprotected after a full week of taking them. :)

7 days although it's suggested that you wait at least one month before going without a condom
