Anyone using essential oils still?

Question

I've got an ugly cold... My nose is so stuffed! I would normally sniff peppermint all day but I've been scared to use my oils since being pregnant, so many opinions out there on usage during pregnancy.

So my question is... Anyone have a safe natural remedy for stuffy nose? Or is anyone using EOs during pregnancy and which ones are you using?

Please, I advise that you don't ingest any oils while pregnant, or even when you're not, unless advised by a --certified-- aromatherapist (not an essential oil salesperson). That being said, I'm suffering from a terrible head cold too. Peppermint tea in the morning has helped so much, and cool compresses. Also saline rinse is safe as well. Hope you feel better soon!

Sniffing a little peppermint oil is ok. I went to school for aromatherapy 💗The safest oils to use during pregnancy are lavender, chamomile, and some citrus.  You can fill a bowl with hot water and put 3-4 drops of lemon oil in it and put a towel over your head and the bowl so you're inhaling it in for a few minutes. Also, a netti pot is a huge help for stuffy noses. I agree with a PP, do not ingest any oils. (Ever). ✨

I've done a lot of research and have used oils for a long time... As long as you are using high quality oils then peppermint is ok in 1st and 2nd tri. Try making the allergy trio blend by diffusing lemon, lavender, and peppermint. Always clears me up within a matter of seconds. If you don't have diffuser then rub on your chest. I'm actually diffusing lemon and peppermint right now for happy energy!

I use oils and there are oils that you should not use during pregnancy and you can usually find those lists online or on Pinterest. Peppermint is fine though as long as you are not rubbing it on your belly. I use it for my nose as well as on my chest for heartburn also mixed with coconut oil for sore muscles.

I'm using EO's to sleep better and breathe right. I use a mixture of sandalwood, Eucalyptus and some lavender. hope that helps! try taking telfast or Zyrtec if it's available where u are.

No. I read online there are so many unsafe ones and the ones that are safe are not okayed until 2nd trimester. I got a bunch of bath bombs from lush and couldn't use a single one 😢
