Born two days late, after 19 hours of labor. Water broke at 9:30 pm and we went to the hospital at 1 am. Checked in and made good progress, from a 3 to 7 in a couple hours, but then stalled and had to get pitocin and epidural to reduce stress as baby's heart rate was dropping with contractions. Was so glad for that epidural later! Got to a ten about 2:30 pm and started pushing. Pushed for an hour or so but low pelvic bone was blocking the head from coming out. The doc used the vacuum as a last attempt before c-section and I pushed with all my might to get that little precious out. Less than 5 minutes and some big screams later, we had our baby! He had to go straight to the warmer to be checked as there had been meconium in the amniotic fluid. His daddy cried and when he finally got set on my chest, so did I. We aren't emotional people but it was the most beautiful moment I've ever been part of. They aren't kidding when they say your whole world changes. We are so incredibly happy to have our little 6 lb 15 oz wonder. Best of luck to all the other mommies!
