Will I have twins??

Okay in the last few months I have reconnected with my birth parents and found out I have 16 siblings yes I said 16 my father has 8 kids and my mom has 9 kids me include in both but that's beside the point On my fathers side of the family everyone either has twins or is a twin including my father my grandmother my grandfather and basically all of my sibling on my father side is a twin except me and my younger sister my older sibling are all twins and they all have either 2-3 sets of twins! I am very nervous with me trying to having a child now that I will have twins! What do y'all think!?!

The "twin gene" is actually only passed down from mom!

Yup. From the mom. And actually only fraternal twins are genetic. Identical twins are a random act. A freak of nature :) fraternal is passed down because you release more than one egg during your cycles. That's the part that's genetic :)

I thought it could get passed down from a father... As he can pass down the gene? He himself wouldn't have an increase in twins as he isnt the one to hyperovulate but he can still pass it on?? I could be wrong though? Now I'm confused...?

I had twins & was told that it is a maternal gene. Twins are amazing! :)

Yea I recently read it's on the mom side not the dad's

My ob told me even though they run in my family it's still unlikely I'll have them.
