Which do you prefer carpet or hardwood?

I just got through watching an episode of house hunters and the wife was ridiculously obsessed with having wood flooring. I was just wondering what is the opinions of other. I quite like carpet to be honest, I'd rather vacuum than sweep that's all and I have no allergies so.... yea. ? But I absolutely hate tile flooring it just makes a house seem cold to me, and I live in the desert where tile is ideal.

I like wood floors throughout the house, except in bedrooms (carpet!) and bathrooms (tiles!)

We have hard wood floors now and I hate it! We are putting area rugs everywhere!! Between listening to the dogs nails click and endless pet hair floating around I've had enough! I'll spend an hour sweeping and two seconds later more pet hair. I miss my carpet!

Tile babyyyyy. I have a dog and he wrecked the hardwood floors at my parents house. Carpet is soooooooo disgusting. You cannot actually clean it, vacuum all you want but it ain't coming clean. It holds into bacteria, look it up. I'm staying at a place that has carpet in the bedrooms and its so gross, I feel awful being here, I will not walk on it in bare feet, yuck
