D&C or pill?

Just got conformation today that it is a blighted ovum ... Had a MC on March and got a D&C but I don't know about getting  two done in 6 months ... Has anybody opted for the pill ? How painful was it ?

The hospital gave me the choice of D&C or Misoprostal pill when I had a missed miscarriage at 11 weeks. I think the pain of the pill depends on how far along you are. At 11 weeks the gestational sac was the size of my palm, and I endured seven hours of excruciating contractions before my cervix dilated enough to pass the sac, and the itty bitty baby inside it... An ultrasound a week later showed I hadn't passed everything, so was given the Misoprostal again and had very little pain that time round. Another ultrasound ANOTHER week later still showed a stubborn bit of placenta in my uterus and I had no choice but to have a D&C to remove it, but by that point I was so exhausted and over it that I didn't mind so much.

Despite the pain, if faced with the same choice I would probably take the Misoprostal again just because it gives me the icks to think of somebody else removing my baby from me, but at the same time I wouldn't wish the pain of that first round of Misoprostal on anybody 😔

My experience of the pill process was messy and drawn out, so a D&C would probably be more efficient and less painful. The decision is yours completely, and I'm so sorry it's a decision you have to make at all 😔 sending you lots of healing vibes hun!

The pill was awful! I wanted to die for 2 days...& it didn't work & needed a d&c anyways😢

I had an mmc in December and opted to have an erpc (basically a d&c) as I wasn't sure I could deal with the pill. Unfortunately there was leftover tissue which had to be removed with a second round of surgery... However I've managed to fall pregnant again within 6 months (fingers crossed however so far only seen a yolk sac but no embryo). 
Tbh there's no right or wrong answer, you need to do what you are most comfortable with and your Dr will be able to give you all the information you need to make an informed choice.

I've had D&Cs w/ both of my miscarriages but I did have to take the pill once before a hysteroscopy. It was pretty painful to me, lots of cramping but they do give you pain medication that kinda helps. Good luck.

I have took the pill for my 1st and 3rd miscarriage both missed miscarriages. It is painful but my dr. Gave me pain medicine it helped a lot but I wanted to deal with everything at home that is why I chose to do the pill.

My first mc I did the pill.  They gave me hydrocodone too so I just kept taking it every 5 hours until it happened.  It was more emotionally painful than physically painful in my opinion.  I'm so very sorry for your loss.

I went for the D&C with my missed miscarriage. I tried waiting for my body to process it naturally but it was to emotionally stressful waiting for it. So I called my doctor and scheduled the D&C so i could start the grieving process. Everything I have read depending on how far along like anything after 9 weeks almost feels like giving birth but i dont know haven't experienced it.
