Can you repaint crib....?

Question

Hubbies friend gave us a cherry wood color crib and it has some places on it. Do you just buy cherry color and paint it...? Or should I leave it?

I would sand paper it down and repaint. Dont want to chance paint chips for when little one is able to stand and teeth on the rails

so super exiting Valspar at lowes makes a furniture paint where you don't need to sand or anything we used it on an old dresser and it worked great!! and you can pick any paint color they have.

I repainted our crib. We looked up baby safe paints. Then we just did a pretty brown and a baby safe clear coat to seal it so they can't chew the sides n get the paint off lol. It turned out great my little boy used it and we just retouched it for our second (:
