Anal with a condom?

My mum just told me about when girls do anal it's best to have a Condom on as doing anal spreads diseases etc. I think this is true...? But what if I don't want someone wearing a condom one day. Will I be okay?? I think condoms take the fun out but their there for protective obviously. I'm 16 if it matters as I don't know a lot about anal.
