First period after d&c?

TMI warning.... It's been 6 weeks since my d&c, and my period started last night. It is absolutely horrendous! Like,  it started with a gush of blood while I was driving home from work. Soaking through my underwear and shorts!!

I also have some fairly large clots. A few were 1.5 inches in diameter, I'm guessing.

Has anyone else had a similar experience? It's calmed down a bit this AM, but I was debating calling my doctor just to be save.

3 weeks after my D&C my period was horrendous. constantly feeling huge contractions that follow with huge clots. I lost my first pregnancy last April and after 2 frozen embryo transfer I'm pregnant again. I'm absolutely scared now but I'm giving you all the good vibes.

Yes, it is totally normal to have a horrendous first period after miscarriage. Call your doc if you are soaking through a pad an hour for two hours. Im so sorry you are going through this, hopefully you'll be able to feel like things are back to "normal" soon!

Oh goodness. Not yet 😫 I'm only 4 weeks post D&C and terrified for my period to return. I already have pretty painful periods but they're not heavy by any means so I'll notice a difference right away. We started trying again right away so it may not come.
I've seen other ladies say their periods were heavier and more painful though so it's probably normal 😬
