Why in the hell do I have to wait

I'm at the doc and she say I will see you when your 20 weeks to find out the gender of the baby with my other two they told me at 13 weeks  I don't wanna wait that long to know😩

13 weeks is very early for a gender scan, I'm surprised you got an accurate answer that early before. 20 weeks is standard, they want to do an ultrasound at the halfway point anyway to make sure the growth of your baby is on track.

That's actually pretty normal. Most doctors don't do an anatomy scan until 18-20 weeks because the chance of mistaking the gender is higher before then. However, If you have genetic testing done (which is anytime after 10 weeks) you can accurately find out the gender through that.

I was 13 weeks 5 days before they set my due date back 5 days today. They wouldn't even look between the legs and I already knew the gender.

Mine told me 20 weeks too, said I could come in earlier and have have the scan done but that insurance wouldn't pay for it.

I had my appointment Monday and my doctor told me the same thing. So my husband and I found a private ultrasound clinic to do a gender scan at 16 weeks

It's always been like that for me. A dating scan at 8 weeks and the other scan at 20. That's all I had with my first 2 but with my last 2 and this one I also get one at 28 weeks and 34 or 36 weeks, I can't remember. It does suck going that long but it's just what some doctors do.

If you get the genetic chromosome testing done, you can find out through that. I think you can get it done any time after 10 weeks.

I had no idea that people only got like 2 or 3 ultrasounds throughout their entire pregnancy. My last pregnancy and this one I get one with every visit, no high risk or complications. 20 weeks seems late for a sex scan. Everyone around here gets them about 14-16 weeks. Sorry you have to wait so long!

I didn't think external organs were visible enough on ultrasound at 13 weeks so I wouldn't trust it that early anyways. My dr does optional 16 week gender scan if you want or if you for go that one then they will tell you at 20 weeks anatomy scan

I had the blood test done at 10 weeks exactly. They drew my blood and in 7 days I'll know what it is. It detects a Y chromosome in my blood. So if there is one, it's a boy! If not, it's a girl! I'd suggest finding someone to do that and see if insurance covers it. I have both Florida Blue and Medicaid. My Medicaid covers it for free.
