Excessive Weight Gain!??

Question

I recently went to see my OB for a routine checkup, and he told me I've gained excessive weight. Now bear in mind that I'm 5'2 and was 120 lbs when i got pregnant. I'm now 150 and feel absolutely awful because he's said that to me. I do all I can for the baby and my health and them they go and say something like that and it feels like i did it all for nothing :/

I have always gained alot of weight for my pregnancies. pre pregnancy I was 135 and I'm 165 right now (I'm 5'6) but I'm all belly. I think if you feel okay, and you know that your eating decent then it's okay. I'm 30 weeks and I expect to gain even more weight. I don't feel like there is a set amount of weight to gain or not gain. Your instincts know best!

With my first, I gained 44lbs.. 5'3" start weight 116, end weight 160#'s. I was never told I gained too much, but I knew I did.

This pregnancy, start weight was 120, current 143# at 34 weeks. at my 20 week appt the OB I saw said I was gaining too much. (134lbs at the time) so I've been more careful over the past 14 weeks and only gained 9lbs since then. Also the lady doc I saw a few weeks ago said he's an ass and don't listen to him. Lol

Right now I'm on modified bed rest due to risk of preterm labor from constant contractions. Hoping to not gain much more weight.

I say, eat what you want! You've given up a lot for this baby! But do keep in mind the more ya gain the more you have to loose!

Shit screw your doctor!! We are the same height and I started at 130, I've gained WAY more than you and every apt my doctor looks and me and says "your weight is great". I walk for at least a half hour every day and I eat a fairly well rounded diet, it's just I EAT ALL THE TIME.

As if we don't have enough to worry about without being told you've gained too much when your completely fine!!! Ignore your doctor on this one. 30lbs is average.

I was 114 lbs before pregnancy and now I'm 139.5 lbs at 33 weeks 1 day. My doctor said I'm fine. I lost a lot from weeks 10-15 from morning sickness and I gained most of it right after I could finally eat.
