Bedrest?

I'm 30 weeks with twins, and I've been asked a LOT lately how I'm not in bedrest. So it got me wondering, how common is it to be put on bedrest when it comes to this point of a twin pregnancy? How many of you ladies were on it by 30 weeks?

Me too! I just left my 30 week appt and my doctor also did a vaginal ultrasound to check my cervix. My cervix looks good and he was happy with everything. He hasn't mentioned bed rest either. I feel so grateful to be having twins and almost 40 yrs old. Yay for all of us!!

I asked my mfm at the last appointment since everyone was saying it would happen and I should plan for it. He said it is a thing of the past and is only used by old school professionals. He did say that the only time it would be used is that if things were bad enough to need to be observed in the hospital. In that case the bed rest would be in the hospital We shall see how true this is soon enough...

I got put on bed rest (still able to work from home) at 31 weeks due to a trip to the hospital. I was trying to do too much still and this was a way to slow me down. Already in a week of bed rest. Contractions have slowed down and my swelling is almost non existent. It has really been the best thing for me and the girls!

I'm pregnant with di/di twins - they are to arrive september 26th. I've worked my entire pregnancy and attended school full time. My first trimester I was pulling 17hour days at the hospital while still going to school, last week I finally shortened my hours. My boss is making me go on maternity leave starting the 10th of this month. I'm pretty excited.

Just because you're having twins doesn't necessarily mean bedrest. I worked full time until 34 weeks then had the doctor take me out because I was having contractions on and off. I'm 37 weeks now and still no bedrest. Doctor told me to keep doing what I normally do just not in excess. You know your body and how far to push it. I knew I had been pushing mine too much so I've been resting more. Which has helped because they're still hanging in there. I think it just varies on different pregnancies and complications each momma might have.

I havnt been told anything like that, I inyl finished work this week at 33 weeks workin with toddlers and the words bed rest havnt come up, I think it's mainly if you have any problems like blood pressure or lots of practice contractions

My doctor just says he wants me laying on my left side for 15 mins 3x a day. I'm 30w4d. They said there is no point in putting me on bedrest if everything is going well. I think some do it as a precautionor if there are cervical problems.

People ask me that all the time too 😞 I'm only 26wks. I plan to work all the way through. My doctor is against bedrest because it raises the risk of blood clots. So I may end up on light duty, but I'm still workin!
