how to ask my mom to get on the pill?

im worried she'll freak out and think im having sex but i really just want to go on it because it would help with cramps and shorten my period (which is 7 days long) but im just scared she will flip her shit. what do i say to her?

I was in the same situation, I just told my mom I wanted it for cramps and because my period was so heavy. I'm almost 18 so I also told her it was to be sure I was prepared ahead of time for when I thought it was a good time for sex. She was totally cool about it and said if I was being grown up and responsible enough to ask then she thought it was a good idea. My dad got a little upset when he found out but he got over it, just ask! It won't be as bad as you think!
